CEO of bitcoin.com, “Bitcoin Jesus” Roger Ver, Bitcoin.com consultant Mike Malley, Bitcoin cash evangelist and “Crypto Strategies” YouTube channel founder Hayden Otto recently Bitcoin miners talked about Bitcoin cash and provided some thoughts on the hard fork upgrade that will be implemented on November 15.
According to Roger Ver, the bitcoin cash fork that will be implemented on November 15th is mandatory because the code itself is written in a “must upgrade” way. However, it is still unclear what will be done for this hard fork.
It is reported that when Craig left the Bitcoin miners meeting, Mike Malley and Hayden Otto talked to him privately for nearly an hour. Craig told them that the decision to implement bitcoin cash hard forks on November 15 was very important, and he was very firm in his claim. More importantly, Craig said he has enough hash rates to support this upgrade.
However, Roger Ver talked about an interesting point in the meeting, he believes that hard forks will never split the blockchain, and will not allow hard forks in a few hashes. His explanation is also very simple and straightforward, that is, “split” bitcoin cash, probably because of a small number of dissidents, and they have a low hash rate and market share.
He further added:
“If it weren’t for these few dissidents, Bitcoin cash would never exist.”
Roger said that no technical arguments were raised throughout the meeting to oppose the infinite hard fork of Bitcoin ABC and Bitcoin. He said:
“The only person who is willing to conduct a technical discussion on Bitcoin cash forks has chosen to leave on the first day of the conference. It’s really disappointing.”
In addition, they also discussed another major difference, the NChain 128MB block size increase problem – currently, Bitcoin ABC still insists on using 32MB block size. Roger said that Bitcoin ABC hopes to achieve 128MB block expansion in May next year, because they are unlikely to complete the work in November this year. He said:
“They are not ready to complete the block expansion work in November, but this is already on the roadmap….. At least everyone thinks that the 32MB block size is definitely not enough.”
