The former Prime Minister of Estonia has officially joined a blockchain startup as a consultant. The company’s business scope is the blockchain platform business of sports training.
Taavi Rõivas was the Prime Minister of the Estonian government from 2014 to 2016. He is currently a member of the Estonian Parliament and has joined the cryptocurrency startup Lympo as its Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The company announced in a press release that Lympo aims to motivate people to exercise and foster a positive lifestyle through their LYM tokens.
Taavi Rõivas confirmed the news on Twitter and said, “I am very pleased to help a promising Baltic startup to thrive and continue to pursue the mission of motivating people to exercise more and better.
”According to Lympo, the company can track and aggregate user health and medical information, and issue tokens to reward individuals who complete various sports activities. According to its white paper, these events may be announced or sponsored by companies that work with Lympo.
Conversely, these companies may also receive some or all of the aggregated data from the participants, but the white paper emphasizes that users retain ownership of their data, and some forms of sharing will be subject to the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
Although Lympo originally built LYM tokens on the ethereum protocol, Lympo CEO Ada Jonuse said in a FAQ released last month that he intends to transfer his token ecosystem to another blockchain system, most likely It is NEO.
