The SerenityOS project’s offshoot, an independent browser called Ladybird, aims to release its first Alpha version in early 2026 for macOS and Linux.

The Astian company has made a number of improvements this spring within the Midori 11.5.x series. Headless mode was introduced in 11.5 released on Jan 2025.
Now, users can enjoy automation when testing, scraping, or taking screenshots on Linux, Windows, and macOS systems. Performance has also been improved with the addition of HTTP/3 support.
Version 11.5.1 released on March 19, added support for macOS and enhanced security, memory, and UI, as well as extension management and various other bugs.

As of June 2025, Arc had begun a new practice of issuing regular updates and on June 23rd and 25th, respectively, completed v1.100.0 and v1.101.0 which included Chromium bumps to versions 137 and 138.
Throughout 2025, the company had also announced their sustained focus on maintenance and security updates in direct alignment with CEO Josh Miller’s announcement that Arc will be “supported but feature frozen.
Performance and stability have improved alongside the incremental updates, but changes in focus have been quite apparent due to the new directions being taken at The Browser Company.
