Reports of a Devastating Atomic Wallet Hacked

Atomic Wallet Hacked: Atomic Wallet, a popular non-custodial decentralized wallet, was recently hit with an extensive hack that has left numerous users scrambling to recover their cryptocurrency portfolios from this tragic setback.

Users Seek Answers and Transparency

On Twitter, users first reported signs of the hack and demanded an explanation from the Atomic Wallet team for how funds had gone missing.

On June 3rd, after being made aware of users’ concerns by the Atomic Wallet team, the latter responded by acknowledging compromised wallets while assuring users that they were actively investigating this incident.

Investigator ZachXBT Steps In

ZachXBT, in acknowledging the severity of this situation, issued an open call for individuals affected to provide transaction hashes associated with funds stolen by hackers.

Based on reports received so far, he estimated that over $14 million had been stolen; estimates suggest it may reach up to $35 million; it affects 100+ addresses across various blockchain networks, such as Bitcoin (BTC), ethereum (ETH), tron (TRX), Binance smart chain (BSC) and Cardano (ADA), among others.

The Timeline and Significant Losses

ZachXBT reported that illicit activities between June 2 and 3 led to substantial financial losses for five victims, one reporting losses totalling $7.95 million USDT alone.

ZachXBT estimates the combined losses among these five were nearly $17 million – however there has been some good news: ZachXBT has confirmed that approximately one million USDT has already been successfully recovered; more information regarding its recovery process will be shared soon with the community.

Beware of Phishing Attempts

Malicious actors have taken advantage of a dire situation by sharing phishing links in comment sections in an attempt to lure in unsuspecting victims. ZachXBT issued an urgent alert, imploring all to remain vigilant when encountering such tweets.

The recent Atomic Wallet Hacked has sent shockwaves through the crypto community, leaving many devastated at their losses. Investigators like ZachXBT are working diligently to recover stolen assets; while affected users eagerly wait for further updates.

In the meantime, caution must be exercised as potential fraudsters take advantage of this unfortunate incident by engaging in scams such as phishing attacks.
