The Bitcoin inscription market UniSat Marketplace was officially launched yesterday (23) night. Unexpectedly, it suffered a large number of double spending attacks (Double Spending Attack) this morning (24). It is currently estimated that 70 transactions are affected. Fortunately, the official promises to compensate relevant users loss.
According to reports, UniSat Marketplace is launched by the Bitcoin inscription wallet UniSat Wallet. The former is an inscription market on the Bitcoin chain, which mainly uses “Partially Signed Bitcoin Transactions (PSBT)” as the core technology and supports BRC-20 assets.
However, the UniSat Marketplace, which has been online for less than 24 hours, began to be paralyzed early this morning. Many users reported that they could not even enter the official website. The official team also responded at the time, “This situation is only temporary and we are doing our best to repair the system . “
But a few hours later, UniSat Wallet immediately posted a post stating: “Due to a loophole in the code base, the just-launched UniSat Marketplace has suffered a large number of double-spending attacks.”
During testing last week, we simulated different double-spend attack methods and made improvements and enhancements to the code. Unfortunately, certain issues were still exposed in the initial public release,” the team noted.
UniSat Wallet added that there are preliminary findings: 70 of the 383 transactions were affected, and that it will further investigate the cause of the incident and compensate the affected users for their losses. It is still to be determined when the service can be restored .
