Coinbase has recently been interested in attaining a leading position among platforms for retail investors. Coinbase is also actively engaged in the development of infrastructure aimed at servicing and attracting institutional organizations as clients. The news that the vice-president and CEO Adam White left the cryptocurrency platform was unexpected for both company representatives and the public.
The management reported on White’s resignation and expressed some regrets on this occasion. Cryptocurrency platform CEO Brian Armstrong noted the merits of the former manager, calling his presence a key component of Coinbase’s growth and success. However, the company does not lose optimism and are going to follow the plan and principles laid down by the past CEO.
Adam White joined Coinbase 5 years ago when the company was in the start-up stage and the team of its founders was working from the apartment. At that time, Bitcoin was only $ 200. The top manager had a job at the USAF and a consultant at Bain & Company. The former vice-president of Coinbase himself does not give any comments about his sudden departure from office.
Now Jonathan Kellner has been appointed Managing Director of Coinbase. Prior to that, he managed brokerage firm Instinet, which favored state investors and institutional players.
