In an epic display of Blockchain adoption by mainstream companies, Air France-KLM has partnered with Winding Tree to use Blockchain Technology in the indispensable travel industry.
The purpose of the agreement is to use the Blockchain to provide customers with a favourable travel offer and remove third parties. An announcement of the deal published on the website of Air France-KLM stated:
“The aim of this new agreement is to provide, via Blockchain technology, a more advantageous travel offer for customers which is more profitable for suppliers, in particular by reducing the number of intermediaries. Thanks to Winding Tree’s BtoB platform, users, and in particular companies and start-ups, will benefit from a wide range of offers (flights, hotels etc.) and will be able to offer travel solutions which are adapted to their customers’ needs”
The statement continued that Air France-KLM will sustain Winding Tree’s technological developments by testing the technology and rendering feedback as the development progresses.

The statement added that the partnership Air France-KLM is seeking is part of its innovation strategy. With a noted devotion to innovate, the company is regularly creating solutions to ensure travelling becomes easier. It praised artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies for making it possible for Air France, KLM and Transavia to design chatbots committed to customer service like tracking checked baggage, adding more baggage, booking assistance among others.
