What Is Aave (AAVE)?
Aave is a decentralized finance protocol that allows people to lend and borrow crypto. Lenders earn interest by depositing digital assets into specially created liquidity pools. Borrowers can then use their crypto as collateral to take out a flash loan using this liquidity.
Aave Coin (which means “ghost” in Finnish) was originally known as ETHLend when it launched in November 2017, but the rebranding to happened in September 2018. (This helps explain why this token’s ticker is so different from its name!)
They provide holders with discounted fees on the platform, and it also serves as a governance token — giving owners a say in the future development of the protocol.

Aave Defi Features
One to one ratio
A Tokens are pegged 1:1 to the value of the underlying asset that is deposited in protocol.
Redirect the interest
The interest earned on aTokens can be redirected at any time to any Ethereum public address.
Aave flash loans
Flash loans are loans taken by The developers without collateral to build smart contracts. However, the contracts have to be geared towards loans. On getting the contract ready, proceeds from the product are used to repay the loan plus interest. End-users can access flash loans using applications such as defisaver and collateral swap.
Security
At The, security is the top priority and they are constantly auditing and improving Protocol. Funds are stored on a non-custodial smart contract on the Ethereum blockchain. You control your wallet. Regulated and auditable by code. You can read updates on the blog.
Admin keys
The will keep ownership of the protocol in these early days in order to ensure that the protocol remains secure if any issues arise. Once the governance is ready to be released, ownership of Protocol will migrate to the governance of smart contracts and token holders will be able to vote on smart contract updates.
Why Aave Coin?
They offers the most diverse range of DeFi collateral of any lending protocol on the market. Backed by strong liquidity and the opportunity to protect against smart contract risk using Nexus Mutual, we’ve seen carve out a significant market share in the Defi lending market in 2020.
How Is the Aave Network Secured?
The open-source protocol is built on Ethereum, a blockchain that is currently making the transition from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake.
