PRESS RELEASE

Polkadot Announces That Kusama Is “Finally Ready To Launch Parachain”

Kusama Is A Sister Chain Of The Polkadot Platform And Is Ready To Launch A Parachain On The Network.

Gavin Wood, The Creator Of Polkadot And Kusama, Stated In A Blog Post Today That Polkadot Is Entering The Fourth And Final Phase Of Its Mainnet Launch, Which Involves The Deployment Of Parachains In The Kusama Network. According To Wood, Parity Technologies, The Development Department Behind Polkadot, Has Released An Upgraded Version For Kusama—polkadot Version 0.9, “Now Finally Ready To Start The Parachain.”

Wood Said That After A Comprehensive External Audit Of The New Version Of Polkadot And Kusama’s Execution Of “At Least One Successful Auction Including Crowdfunding Loans And Hosting At Least One Functional Parachain” In A Natural Environment, The Parachain Will Be Launched. He Did Not Provide A Specific Timetable, But He Added That He Expects The Audit To Be Completed In The “Near Future” And The Kusama Website Will Announce The First Of The Five Auctions A Week In Advance.

Wood Said: “After Kusama Successfully Completes The First Auction, One Can Expect The Auction On Polkadot To Come Soon.”

The Promotion Of The Polkadot Protocol Has Been In Progress Since August, When The Project Launched The Rococo Testnet To Evaluate Its Planned Sharding Implementation Based On Parachains. Some People Expect The Parachain To Be Launched In The First Quarter Of 2021, But It Is Said That The Stability Of The Rococo Testnet Has Problems-for Example, One Of Its Parachains Has Apparently Been Stuck For More Than A Day.

As Of Press Time, Polkadot’s Dot Token Price Is $39.51, Which Has Fallen By More Than 2.2% In The Past 24 Hours.
