Metamask Updated Version 8: One of the most popular browser-based Ethereum wallets, MetaMask, has introduced an update to Web 3.
Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens can be stored in the MetaMask wallet built into the browser extensions. The wallet also runs under Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Brave browsers, and once installed, the cryptocurrency wallet can be used to send and receive Ethereum-based coins.
The 8th update was announced on Twitter on Thursday. Not only has the interface been beautified, but a number of new security protocols have also been added to the update.
Because the wallet is built right into the browser, a customer’s browsing history and stored data can easily fall into the wrong hands if an extension doesn’t have enough security features. The new version of the wallet now also allows the user to choose which page to access through the MetaMask wallet.
In addition, a new encryption option has been added to the update. The Web 3.0 users are now able to communicate with the websites encrypted channel, if someone else would like to send an important message is not spam.
With the MetaMask updates, they didn’t just want to patch up and patch security holes. Dan Finlay, lead developer of MetaMask, said with version 8, their undisguised desire to move and steer even larger masses towards Web 3.0.
They also drew a lot from feedback from new users who may have stalled in previous cases when registering, so they hope that with the current update, even more users can join the Ethereum ecosystem.
