    • Disclaimer:

A Wallet of Satoshi is the smallest unit of the Bitcoin currency recorded on the block chain. It is a one hundred millionth of a single bitcoin (0.00000001 BTC). The unit was named in homage to the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.

What Is Lighting

Lightning is an open source retail payment system built on top of Bitcoin. Wallet of Satoshi main purpose is to enable extremely fast and cheap payments, much faster and cheaper than regular Bitcoin transactions, while retaining the same level of security.

It is used for the kind of payments that you would expect when shopping; fast, cheap and reliable. It also allows for micro-payments: the sending of extremely small amounts of money, in the order of one ten-thousandth of a cent at a time.

Where Can Spend Lighting

You are still early, but the list is growing all the time. You can:

  • Pay bills or withdraw AUD at Living Room of Satoshi
  • Find online stores that accept Lightning at Lightning Network Stores
  • Spend at Australia’s network of Lightning retailers (cafes, car washes, restaurants etc) TravelByBit merchants
  • Unlock articles to read at Y’alls
  • Browse the best new Lightning Apps at Lapps.co
  • Raise funds at tallycoin
  • Send us a tip at tippin.me

Backup Wallet of Satoshi

To ensure you can access your wallet in the event of a broken or lost phone, just be sure to sign into your WoS with your email address. This will allow you to recover your balance and payment history on a new device.

Fees

There is a fixed fee applied when sending BTC ‘on-chain’ payments. This fee varies depending on the current state of the Bitcoin Mempool, and will be quoted to you before you confirm the payment.

Wallet of Satoshi have no control over the Bitcoin Miner Fees and, at times, it can be relatively expensive to ensure a transaction is included on the blockchain. They strongly encourage all users to send via the Lightning Network where possible for faster, cheaper payments.

1. Send bitcoin from an exchange or other wallet to the provided wallet address.

3. Buy Bitcoin!
– Tap the Buy Bitcoin button and, depending on your location, you will be shown options to purchase.

Some things you can do:

– Scan a merchant’s Lightning (or on-chain Bitcoin) QR code to pay, paste their payment address, or click a direct Lightning Invoice link.

– Use LNURL-Withdraw to #stacksats, a feature supported by many lightning apps and games.

– Find Physical Merchants near you who accept lightning using the Google Maps integration.

From the makers of Australia’s original and most trusted bitcoin bill payments service, Living Room of Satoshi.

Instant Transactions

Of Course! With Wallet of Satoshi you can pay a Lightning Invoice or send directly to an on-chain Bitcoin address. When you scan a QR code (or paste it directly into your wallet), your WoS will automatically identify what type of payment it is and will create the correct transaction type for you instantly.

Why Wallet of Satoshi?

Wallet of Satoshi focuses on user experience and simplicity, functioning exclusively as a Bitcoin Lightning Network wallet. The Lightning Network allows Bitcoin transactions to be sent instantly thanks to off-chain channels. Lightning transactions are free and secure as the network relies on the security of the Bitcoin blockchain without miner fees being incurred.

With most Lightning Network wallets, users must setup a channel with the party they are sending the transaction to in order to successfully make a transaction. As a custodial Lightning Network wallet, WoS removes the need for users to manually open channels. Instead, channel setup is all done behind the scenes as soon as you top up your wallet with Bitcoin.

Simple Layout

Just what you need to see, and nothing you don’t.

Scan to Pay

Scan the merchant’s QR code. Confirm. Done.

Top Up Options

Send bitcoin from an exchange or buy directly from.

So Easy – your Mum could use it

Wallet of Satoshi No fuss, no confusion.

Tips for securely storing your Wallet of Satoshi

  • Do your own research. Before sending any coins or private data to a wallet, make sure you have researched the wallet provider to make sure everything is above board. Keep an eye out for scam wallets, such as those using URLs only slightly different to the URLs of legitimate wallet providers, and check out some independent reviews for all the pros and cons.
  • Back it up. Maiar.com use of your wallet’s back-up and restore facility so that if something ever goes wrong with your wallet, you’ll be able to recover your funds.

  • Make use of all available security features. Make the most of all the security features your wallet offers, such as two-factor authentication or multi-signature transactions. It’ll offer increased protection for your funds and greater peace of mind for you.
  • Update your antivirus software. Maiar.com care to regularly update the antivirus protection and anti-malware software on any device you will be using to access your wallet.
  • Keep your private keys private. Last but not least, don’t underestimate the importance of your private keys. Store them somewhere safe and don’t share them with anyone else.
