Artur Kirjakulov, the founder of XPMarket, has openly criticized two proposed amendments to the XRP Ledger, stating that they lack practical relevance. His concern concerns the “Credentials” and “Permissioned Domains” amendments, which he argues cater to institutions not currently active on the ledger.
Kirjakulov confirmed that his team is voting against the amendments and encouraged other validators to take a similar position. He says these features are planned for ideal use cases and do not represent the requirements of the ecosystem today.
He reported that the existing state of the ledger cannot accommodate any meaningful real-world asset applications. Instead, the platform is seeing an increase in the activity of meme coin trading, which he feels has diverted focus from serious development.
Kirjakulov blamed the network for lacking developer tools and unsupportive resources for meaningful dApp creation. Presently, only four decentralized applications successfully produce significant revenue on the XRP Ledger while demonstrating his worries regarding developer interest.
Call for Focus on Builder-Centric Development Tools
Kirjakulov says the ecosystem needs practical upgrades to lure serious builders and developers. He suggested batch transactions, enhanced trading functionalities, and token escrow functionalities as more valuable changes.
He also said that these features would directly support developers working to build sustainable applications within the ecosystem. It sends the wrong message to active contributors when the absent institutions have theoretical features prioritized over them.
Kirjakulov clarified that validators should use their votes to influence the future to favor builders, not seek speculative institutional adoption. He said that it is the responsibility of validators to look after the interests of those already working within the ecosystem.
He closed by restating his team’s position and determination to fight for a practical and builder-focused development environment on XRP Ledger.
